Hospital Care
Hospice works closely with hospital staff. Hospice services can be initiated in most any setting, including the hospital. If you should return home or move to a nursing home, Hospice services will transition with you. In the hospital, Hospice staff does not take over your care, but rather combines their skills and expertise with facility staff. In this situation, we'll take the lead in directing symptom management and comfort rather than aggressive treatment. And, we'll provide emotional and spiritual support regarding end-of-life issues. In the event a patient's symptoms become unmanageable the hospice team will place the patient in the hospital for treatment and care. |
